Projects
From substations to solar farms, our projects have contributed to the safe and reliable supply of electricity to New Zealanders. We work with clients across the electricity industry including electricity generators, electricity distributors, engineering consultants, electrical contractors and equipment suppliers.
Taiohi Solar Farm
Located in Rangiriri West in the Waikato, this 33MW solar farm connects to the electricity distribution network at 33kV. Linework has been incredibly proud to support the Infratec team with tender reviews, site establishment, safety and compliance advice and support with systems and processes during the project. Linework has also helped to create a maintenance management system for the site and supplied some of the safety equipment required for safe operation of the site. This site is an important generation asset in the NewPower Energy portfolio.
New Plymouth Airport Solar Farm
Located near the New Plymouth Airport, this solar farm comprises 14,400 solar panels and generates 14MWh of electricity, enough to power around 2000 homes for a year. The solar farm connects to the Powerco network at 11kV. The solar farm was developed by New Plymouth Airport and was designed and constructed by Infratec. Linework has been proud to support the Infratec team with tender reviews, document creation and a range of other project support services. Linework has also helped to create a maintenance management system for the site and supplied some of the safety equipment required for safe operation of the site. Find out more about this project here and here.
Waiotahe Solar Farm
This 87 GWh solar farm is located in the Waiotahe Valley in the Bay of Plenty and will comprise nearly 90,000 solar panels. This is a Lodestone owned plant that was built by Infratec. We’ve helped the Infratec team with tender evaluations, document reviews and back-end system administration and provide ongoing support to the NewPower Energy maintenance team.
Naumai Solar Farm
Located in Northland alongside the Wairoa River, this solar farm comprises around 7,500
photovoltaic modules and connects to the electricity distribution network at 11kV. This is a NewPower Energy owned plant that was designed and built by Infratec. From site visits to contractor pre-qualification and safety and compliance advice, we continue to provide support services to the NewPower Energy team.
Edgecumbe Solar Farm
Located near Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty, this solar farm generates enough electricity to power around 7,500 homes each year. Comprising more than 60,000 photovoltaic modules and connecting to the distribution network at 33kV. This is a Lodestone owned plant that was built by Infratec. We provided project support as well as safety and compliance advice to the Infratec team.
Kaitaia Solar Farm
Located inland from Ninety Mile Beach in the Far North, this solar farm uses more than 60,000 photovoltaic modules to generate electricity and connects to the distribution network at 33kV. The solar farm produces over 50GWh of electricity annually. This is a Lodestone owned site that was built by Infratec. We assisted the Infratec team by providing safety and compliance advice, document reviews and support with systems and processes. We continue to provide support services to the NewPower Energy team.

Gisborne Solar Farm
Located near Gisborne Airport in Eastland, this solar farm uses 8,000 photovoltaic modules to generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 1,000 typical homes. This 5MW solar farm connects to the electricity distribution network at 11kV and is expected to generate over 7GWh of electricity annually. This is an Eastland Generation owned plant that was designed and built by Infratec. We assisted the Infratec project team by providing safety and compliance advice, document reviews and support with systems and processes.
Rotohiko Battery Energy Storage System
Located near Huntly in the mighty Waikato region, the Rotohiko Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) comprises 16 battery containers and 4 inverter systems and has an overall energy storage capacity of 33MWh. The BESS connects to the distribution network at 33kV. The site can store enough energy to meet the daily demands of over 2,000 homes. We were involved in the project since 2022 when work began on the site. This is a NewPower Energy owned plant that was designed and built by Infratec. We were involved in tender reviews, site visits, providing safety and compliance advice and developing and implementing a work management system for Infratec. We also provide NewPower Energy with ongoing post-project support.
